Rescue Me ID: 15-05-22-00403GUS (formal 'Angus' (male)

Maine Coon    Age: Young Adult

Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Big (20lbs) beautiful male red Maine Coon; Neutered; Fully clawed; Loves to play and very loving; Likes to be held and walked around and sung to, but not a 'lap' cat; Talks a lot; Active and very healthy; Still a 'kitten' and youthful/playful; $300 bloodwork panel recently showed 100% healthy!; Adopted him a year ago from a Maine Coon rescue in Texas but my living situation has changed and I need to find a new home for him; Unknown how he'd get along with other cats or dogs as he's been an 'only child' in our home. Thank you! Dee in Littleton, Colorado / (Couldn't get the photo upload function to work but if you email me at ... (Read More)deannakaye@mac.com I have many photos I can share.) (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-04-13-00692Leo (male)

Maine Coon    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Female Cats Only, Not Good w/ Dogs, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Low Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

My name is Leo and I am an 11 year-old Maine Coon (but you would never know it because I'm young at heart). I'm a pretty easy cat, and I am looking for my forever home. I am a pretty big boy and an even bigger snuggler. I like to say hi to you when you come home from work! I also like to find all sorts of small places in the house to snuggle (under the bed, on shelves), but my favorite place to be in the whole world is right on your lap! I pretty much live to love on you, so if you're a non-pet owner looking for a loving kitty to be a part of your family, I'd love to join!

Animal ID: 15-04-11-00034Mau (male)

Maine Coon Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Cats, Not Good w/ Dogs, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Needs Vaccinations, Obese

Mau is a super-sweet, loving Maine Coon mix. He is a bit overweight, but also just a large cat in general. He does well with the other male cat in the household, but doesn't respond well when he sees another unknown cat. He is declawed and seems to like most people. He can be a little uncertain around small children.

Maine Coons often win the prize for Best Cat in cat shows. All Maine Coons are considered to be descended from cats in Maine. A popular myth states that Maine Coon Cats are half cat, half raccoon, however, this is not biologically possible. One legend says that Maine Coons are descended from pets belonging to Marie Antoinette, which she sent to America in anticipation of the French Revolution.
