Animal ID: Jake & Otis Courtesy PostJake & Otis Courtesy P (male)

Maine Coon Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Jake and Otis are two stunningly handsome, amazingly sweet Main Coon mix brothers who need a new forever home. The current family loves them, but family issues make it unlikely that they will have a forever home where they are. Jake and Otis are bonded best buddies and have been since birth. The extra-special family who will love them will soon see how loving and cuddly Otis and Jake are. They love to be near you and to communicate by swishing their majestic tails, chirping with the little noises Maine Coons are known for, and gazing up at you with heads tilted backward through gorgeous lined eyes. Jake and Otis shine with amazingly ... (Read More)soft, extra lush tabby-patterned coats. They are loyal and gently tempered and they are good with female cats and children. You will marvel at how proudly they will sit with heads upright to be brushed, combed and brushed some more. Don't be surprised if they suddenly flip upside down so that you can rub their bellies too! Jake and Otis love to burrow into your bed or sleep up on your pillow where they can touch you throughout the night. They might chase each other around like a game of tag, and though they are mature, they still enjoy gentle play. They love cozy, warm, squishy beds and tucked away corners for napping. The owners have maintained excellent health records and both cats are completely current on all vaccines, blood work, parasite exams, urine and fecal tests, physicals, and both are neutered and negative for FELV/FIV. Their most recent physician report stated that they are in good shape and are healthy overall. Jake does have mild Kidney failure but he does not need medicine. All medical records are available from the owners. Jake and Otis reside in Simsbury, CT. Please send an email to if you are interested in adopting them and include a number where you can receive a call. The owners hope to keep them in CT or upstate NY so that they can visit the boys once in a while if at all possible, but they understand that this might be difficult. The owners are willing to answer questions or help with transportation if a good adoption home is found. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-05-05-00293Otis and Jake (male)

Maine Coon Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Incontinent

These two, loving, biological brothers are in danger of being killed. They have been together mostly since birth. Jake is healthy, silky, too sweet for words, and gentle. Otis is a total lover. He adores sitting on your lap, sleeping with you under the covers and being brushed. They will play together and run around like little kittens at times, but they are 15. Otis may have a weak kidney, however, he was monitored and showed no symptoms after prescribed medications were given. He does urinate on the floor in the bathroom after he just used the box. Jake uses the box. He does urinate on the bed or laundry laying on the floor ... (Read More)occasionally, but he has no physical conditions that explain this behavior. I twice adopted them and I love them, but I can't keep them. They may be euthanized very soon if I can't find a home for them. They are wonderful family pets and you will love them. (Less)
