Rescue Me ID: 17-05-24-00263Tigger

Maine Coon Mix    Age: Young Kitten

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Intact (Needs to be Fixed), Needs Vaccinations

Tigger is one of the many kittens to grace my back yard this kitten season. It's a loving, friendly, and sweet little kitty who so far likes nothing more than to run about playing with it's siblings. Tig is a lovely little kitten who likes to come and get a snuggle before bounding off through the grass. A good meal and a little attention and Tig is ready to be nearly anyone's best friend. I believe this kitty will grow up to be average in energy and welcoming to everyone. Maybe a little shy, but over all affectionate and would likely be good with children

Maine Coon Mix    Age: Kitten

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Cats, Not Good w/ Dogs, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Needs Vaccinations

Biddy is an outside cat, but relatively friendly and loves to sit in my lap! The swing is one of her favorite places in the yard. She is a Mid-Hair with Maine Coon and Siamese in her (by what the vet says) and is looking for someone who might want a cuddly porch cat. Currently she is nursing 3 kittens who will be adopted out separately around June 9th, she will be available after they go to homes! Biddy could easily be tamed to indoor house cat level, though she is not currently house broken. For more information, pictures, or details about Biddy just send me an email!

Rescue Me ID: 17-04-22-00320Chii (male)

Maine Coon Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Cats, Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Needs Vaccinations

Let us make one thing clear. Chii DOES spray. But please, help him. This is not why I'm looking to rehome him. He IS litter box trained. He does have some issues with hairballs (being mid-long haired.) Has an issue with hair matting on his tail, fussy butt loves to be brushed... all except his tail! (Vet said it's of no real concern, just to bathe him once in a while.) Why am I looking to rehome Chii? Two reasons. One : This house is also a home to four small(er) dogs. When I say small, I mean one is not quite 5lbs. Two of these are old, going up to 13 years, and simply don't have it in them to play with something as young, lively, and ... (Read More)large as Chii. This has created a dynamic in the house where I have to do my best to keep the older dogs safe from his rambunctious playing. He means them no harm, but being easily twice the dog's weight, he is simply too large and rough for them. Two : Over my years of dealing with cats I've developed some low level allergies to them. For the most part this is just the fact that their hair, or saliva, makes me itch like mad. This means that I can't give Chii near as much love and attention as he would like, as I have to wash pretty carefully after handling him. About Chii. I've known Chii since he was about eight weeks old, give of take a few days. Some of my first pictures of him are from 10/10/14. He was part of a litter a stray momma cat dropped on our doorstep. It was only a month later when I realized he was sick, very very sick. His tiny body had two cuterebra larva in it. One in the front right of his neck and one atop his head right beside his right ear. The little fella was so weak he could hardly even argue, and he was not exactly a tame kitten then. To the vet we went. It took a round of antibiotics and a lot of love, but my family managed to bring the small hairball back from the edge. Oh, how he hated his medicine but absolutely loved to play. And in another month he was going in and out of the house to play with the other kitties. But you see, Chii is a brave little booger who loves to climb and seems to fear nothing. After he strayed too close to the road too many times he was brought back inside to stay. Our house is small and cluttered and Chii loves to run and climb, it isn't ideal for him since we really lack space for cat trees and play areas. Napping in windows and climbing atop curtains (not sure how he managed it) are some of his favorite things to do. We've been together almost three years now, and it isn't an easy choice for me to try and find this little man a new home. So I would like to note a few things. -Chii has grown increasingly gentle with age, he won't use claws or teeth except in the rarest of cases such as: He DOES NOT like to be carried around, insisting on carrying him will get you bit. -Being a large cat, he's easily as long as my torso with huge feet, he is at risk of becoming extremely heavy. The vet suggested keeping a close eye on his weight. -None of the cats adopted from this area have had FIV or any other communicable diseases. -He is an absolute spoiled brat who gets half a can of wet food every morning. (Friskies tasty treasures, the kind with cheese.) And gets Iams Healthy Adult dry food to graze on the rest of the day. -For some reason he LOVES to play with his water bowl. Often times he will grab it and pull it around, sloshing water everywhere, before he drinks. Consider getting a weighted water bowl. -He likes to sleep in the sink. -He will also play in the toilet if you leave the lid open. Please don't leave the lid open. Haha. -His favorite treats are Temptations hairball control and the Catnip sort. But only sometimes, he snubs treats a lot. -He won't eat most scraps. Don't bother. He really doesn't like canned tuna. -He hates pate cat food, you can forget that too. -Chii can be clingy but does not want to sit on you. He would much rather sit on the book you're reading, on the back of the chair you're sitting on, or on your mouse while you use the computer. Last but not least? -Chii is not extremely social, in fact he can be very very shy. There are some people who have been around who have never seen him because he hides, others he walks right up to and pets. He prefers QUIET people and places that are not super busy. Indoors or outdoors, he enjoys both. If he would be one or the other, or both... are up to you. (Less)
