Rescue Me ID: 15-06-27-00271Missy (female)

Maine Coon Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Not Good with Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Needs Vaccinations

Missy has lived with us for about 2 years, before that she lived with my elderly parents on Saint Simons Island, Ga. My parents got her from a Maine Coon rescue organization about 8 years ago when she was approximately 1 year old. She spent most of her time outdoors on the island (60%/40%), but she is completely indoors with us, though she loves being on our back deck. She has a great disposition, especially toward adult people. She appreciates petting from anyone with the only exception being very young children (perhaps 3 or less). Like most Maine Coons, she will attach herself to one family member in particular (My mother first, now me) ... (Read More)and will follow/prefer that person, but doesn't display hostility to anyone else. Missy doesn't care for other cats or dogs in the house - she tends to avoid confrontation by hiding. Missy is slowing down, however she enjoys playing with fun toys or her favorite - chasing the red dot! Most of her day is spent lounging on the back deck (even in the summer!), or on my favorite chair behind my head. Unfortunately, we now have our grown daughter and new granddaughter in our house and its making life difficult for Missy and us. We would love to find Missy a new home - preferably one with a more quiet lifestyle she can enjoy. (Less)
