Rescue Me ID: 14-10-02-00392Diva (female)

Maine Coon Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Cats, Not Good w/ Dogs, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Diva is a very beautiful, snugly sweet, five-year-old female Maine Coon / Norwegian Forest cat-mix looking for a loving guardian. Diva lived with a family with children since she was a kitten, but when they moved to a no-pets apartment they dropped her off at Chicago Animal Care and Control. Diva was so scared in the metal cage at the shelter that she hid under the newspaper lining her cage. On her cage card was written 'Big Mean Cat.' And, so I brought the gorgeous cat home. She is anything but mean. In fact, she is one of the most lovely cats I've ever known. She loves people and comes running when she hears you. She lets you pick her ... (Read More)up and cuddle her in your arms. If she hears your voice, she begins to quietly meow. She's not really playful, and she gets along with other cats and rabbits after a slow introduction. She loves people but you can't overwhelm her! She has all her claws and uses her scratching tree. And, she is perfect with her litter box habits. Due to her magnificent fur, she occasionally has hairballs, so she's looking for a patient cat-lover with perhaps one other gentle natured cat to love a cat that will love them back. Diva is healthy, spayed, vaccinated for rabies and distemper, virus-tested and micro-chipped. If you are interested in meeting and possibly adopting Diva, please contact me directly at or 773-777-2891. Her adoption fee of $95 benefits the rescued pets of Friends of Animal Care and Control. Diva is currently living in Chicago's Andersonville neighborhood. (Less)

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, FIV

Mario is a snugly, lovable, friendly and playful male black and white, green-eyed Maine Coon-mix cat looking for a loving guardian. Mario is extremely out-going; he has the personality of a 16-pound court jester and is seven years old. I don't know how he is with dogs, but he's lived with six other cats in his foster home and he gets along with everyone quite well. Mario rolls and plays with his catnip toys. He has excellent litter box habits and uses his scratching post. Mario has tested positive for the FIV virus, but is very healthy. He's a lover, not a fighter, so no one else in his foster home has caught the virus. To meet and ...
