Charlie is a black long haired male. He is very cute!! Huge beautiful eyes! He loves to play. He is declawed on all four paws. We rescued him 2 months and really love him but he does not get along with our other 2 cats. He is a sweet cat and needs a loving home! We are so upset to have to put him up for adoption but our other cats were here first and we feel just awful about the whole thing.

Maine Coon    Age: Kitten

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Cats, Good with Adult Women Only
Personality: Very High Energy
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Needs Vaccinations

Grey is a very colorful kitten. His forehead has the tiger stripes, his tail has black rings around and it is like this on his entire tail. He also has spotted cheetah/leopard prints on his sides, and finally he has an all white chest, with some white on his back legs and front paws. He has been kept in a room for his protection, he seems to be a one person kitten at this point, and that is why we need to have a rescue group help us with Grey.

Maine Coon Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, FIV

Meow Meow is a four-year-old, 15-pound, plush male black Maine Coon-mix with deep purrs, a huge plume of a tail and golden eyes looking for a loving guardian. Meow Meow greets his foster family at the door with meows and waits for them to pet him. It took him a few weeks to warm up to them, but once he did '| he was in love. He is still very shy with strangers but gets better with time. He loves tossing little stuffed cat toys up in the air and running after them. He is pretty energetic; he wrestles and plays with the other playful cats in his foster home. Meow is incredibly snuggly and affectionate. If you're on the couch, he's on the ... (Read More)couch next to you. If you're brushing your teeth, he's impatiently waiting on the bed for you to join him for a snuggle session. He's a big fan of belly and chest rubs. He wouldn't turn down a head scratch either. Meow was found stray in Chicago and can be very nervous and jumpy with loud noises and unexpected movements. He is frightened by sudden hand movements so stick toys and feather wands, etc., are out of the question. He enjoys catnip, treats and the laser pointer. He will do best in a quiet home with patient feline-lovers as he will counter surf if food is left out! Meow is very healthy, de-wormed, neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, virus tested positive for FIV which is spread through bite wounds to other cats so he'll be fine on his own or with other playful non-aggressive cats. He has all his claws. To meet and possibly adopt Meow Meow please contact the Feline Friends rescue group at tonimcn@rcn.com or catladychicago@yahoo.com and if you have specific questions about his personality, please contact his foster mom Julie at jasimek@yahoo.com or 773-294-7131. He is being fostered in Chicago's Albany Park neighborhood. (Less)

A popular myth states that Maine Coon Cats are half cat, half raccoon, however, this is not biologically possible. One legend says that Maine Coons are descended from pets belonging to Marie Antoinette, which she sent to America in anticipation of the French Revolution.
