Maine Coon Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Two beautiful, loving 10.5 yr old indoor Maine Coon Cats. . .Brother and Sister with friendly personalities, good hearts, and easy to remember names. Unfortunately, I must part with my darlings due to moving to a place where I cannot bring cats. I would prefer not to bring them to the shelter and would like to offer them to a cat-loving home. Cats are spayed and neutered, litter box trained, and not declawed (but do know to scratch on cheap cardboard scratching boxes; it's funny to watch them when you sprinkle a little catnip on the scratching boxes that comes with the scratching boxes). They eat dry food, have fun darting around, and love ... (Read More)to hang out on a caring lap. Maine Coon cats are the oldest breed of cat in America and have very gentle tendencies and are great with kids and adults. (Less)

Animal ID: Silver longhaired Greyson (male)

Maine Coon Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, FIV, Abused/Neglected

Greyson was spated from death at a high-volume, over-crowded shelter. He is a breathtaking silver Maine Coon mix with stunning green eyes. He is estimated to be two years young. He has a great, laid-back purr-sonality. He is neutered, up-to-date with rabies and distemper vaccinations, dewormed and had Frontline. He needed to be shaved at the shelter to remove bad fur mats. His thick, fluffy coat requires daily brushing. He was blood tested (positive) for feline immunodeficiency positive (FIV) and could adopted to: a home with other FIV positive cats, live alone as a single pet, or join a healthy multi-cat home with docile kitties. There are ... (Read More)many recent studies out that FIV is not a kitty death sentence, and positive cats can live normal, long, healthy lives. (Less)

Animal ID: MattieMattie (female)

Maine Coon Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Mattie is around 5 years old. She was rescued from a very high kill NY shelter. She immediately adjusted into her foster home, by laying on the bed and looking around. She was a little moody from her shelter/abandonment situation, so we allowed her time to decompress. While she lives and tolerates other cats, we learned that all she really want to do is lay by her human ( preferably by their feet) and enjoy a good scratch and massage. She will spend the whole day laying by you and sleep with you at night. Mattie is pretty quiet in her foster home and does not make a fuss. She moves around without a sound and just hangs out watching ... (Read More)whatever is going on. There is a dog in her foster home. She does not interact with the dog at all, and just minds her business. Mattie has horns on her paws. Her horns do not bother her at all and there are no health problems that we know of as a result of the horns. All that needs to be done with them is to clip them, the same as if you were clipping her regular nails. Mattie is spayed and up to date with her vaccines. She uses the litter box. She tolerates and can live with other cats, but would be happiest in a quiet home by herself. She would not make a good companion for another cat, but would make a great companion for a human. Mattie is located in Blairstown, NJ Please fill out an adoption application on our web site www.omcrescue.org Have questions about Mattie, please email us at info@omcrescue.org (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 13-02-16-00293Indiglo (female)

Maine Coon Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Abused/Neglected

Here is a wonderful cat I call Indiglo. I took Indiglo from an abusive situation about 2 years ago. She was traumatized, but has slowly become much friendlier and happier and I believe she's ready to be adopted. I love her and would keep her myself, but she does get bullied by a couple of my other cats and spends most of the day hiding, which I hate. She also picks on one other cat who is afraid of her. *She should go to a home where any other animals are mild mannered and laid back.* I want her to be able to explore her territory freely and get all the love and attention she deserves, without having to worry about being hurt ever again. ... (Read More)Indiglo is usually sweet and likes being petted. She gets in her playful moods and will race around the house, and likes string toys. She does have moments where she doesn't want to be approached or handled. I am patiently looking for 'just the right' home for her. If you are interested, please feel free to get in touch. (Less)
