Rescue Me ID: 16-11-29-00597Jep (male)

Maine Coon Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Cats, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Very Dominant
Health: Neutered, Aggressive

I'm not sure if Jep is a purebred. He was a stray last year that his owner adopted from a shelter. Jep has most of the Maine Coon characteristics: large rectangular build (I believe he is 18 pounds), distinct meow, friendly with people, and dog-like personality. The only trait Jep does not have is large eyes - Jep's eyes are small in comparison with other Maine Coons that I have seen. We have been fostering Jep since March, and we have been unable to resolve Jep bullying our other cats. Jep is mainly an outdoor cat, but this may be the result of all of the conflict Jep has with our other cats. Last year, Jep lived inside 24/7 with one ... (Read More)other cat, and the two cats got along, but Jep was the dominant cat. I have five other cats, and Jep does not want to work with the hierarchy they have already established, and Jep fights with my cats whenever they are near each other. Currently, I have to keep my five cats completely separate from Jep, and I have the cats taking different shifts outside. When Jep is inside the house, it is clear he is very unhappy. Jep becomes destructive after being inside for a few hours (scratching at doors and windows), but I think this is due to the fact that he does not get along with my other cats (Jep did not display this behavior in his previous home at all). It seems to me that Jep would enjoy being an indoor/outdoor cat in a home where he is the only cat, or in a home where another cat chooses to let Jep be the dominant one. My next door neighbor also has a Maine Coon, and she has told me that Jep gets along with her cat and dog - the cat is submissive, though. Jep hasn't gotten along with any of our cats for any period of time, and he has been living with us for 8.5 months. Jep loves people and is very dog-like. He occasionally bites humans because Jep's previous owner allowed Jep to play aggressively with him. I have been trying to rid Jep of aggressive play with humans, and he has done very well considering how aggressive he used to be. Jep used to bite me every time I pet him, and now he bites (lightly) maybe once a week. FYI, Jep has never bitten me hard enough to break through my skin, even when he used to bite me constantly. Jep is house trained and uses a litter box very well. Our only problems with Jep are related to his aggression with our other cats. Jep did get along with one cat in his previous home, but Jep was the dominant cat in that situation. We haven't gotten complaints from neighbors about Jep attacking their cats, but Jep has been actively seeking a new home from our neighbors and begs to go inside of their homes (at least 6 different homes that we know of). The fact that Jep is seeking a new home reveals how unhappy he is at my house, and this also leads me to believe that Jep does desire to spend more time inside of a house (just as long as it's not my house, unfortunately). Since winter is here I am very worried about Jep being outside for long periods of time, and I am hoping to find another home for him ASAP. All of the children on our street love Jep, and we haven't had human-related problems with Jep. (Less)

Maine Coon Mix    Age: Kitten

Compatibility: Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Buddy and Baby are 7 month old kittens that are simply gorgeous. They are Maine Coon/Norwegian Forest mixes (best estimate by vet), friendly and playful. I have many photos I can share with you, and I have photos of the momma and daddy cats (both have been fixed). Buddy and Baby would love to be adopted together. They are strictly indoor cats. They will come with ALL of their supplies. There is a short adoption application to complete. Will not consider out of state adoption. Buddy is the kitten in the front of the photo and is BIG. Baby is the kitten pictured in the rear of this photo and is petite. They are both rescue kittens that I am ... (Read More)fostering. Thank you! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-09-23-00038Ceasar (with Cupid) (male)

Maine Coon Mix    Age: Kitten

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Young Ceasar and other unwanted kitties were surviving by handouts in a parking lot of a restaurant. Numerous times each day, each kitten and cat would literally face death when they would migrate across a VERY busy, 4 lane highway from the restaurant parking lot, as they sought shelter and additional food sources. Ceasar was young enough when trapped that he was able to be calmed down and with the help of a family of special people, he has turned into a very sweet kitty. He does well with kids and other kitties and he has decided he likes this inside life! Ceasar is described by his Foster Mom as 'a Big Teddy Bear, who loves his ... (Read More)stomach rubbed while sprawled out on his back. Ceasar also LOVES his toys, in particular his toy mouse that chirps. Every morning the toy mouse is found under the covers of his Foster Mom's bed.' Ceasar has made a very special friend with Foster Kitten 'Cupid' and would love the opportunity to have Cupid go with him to the same Forever Home. Second Adoption would be half price, so $120.00 (instead of $80 for 1 Adoption) would give their Forever Family twice the fun and love. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, microchip, test for feline leukemia, de-worming, de-fleaing, etc. To Adopt: www.CPAAdopt.org or Text/Call Anita at 513-317-3343 (Less)

Maine Coon Mix    Age: Young Adult

Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Beautiful Carmen is a 4-year old Maine Coon mix wearing a gorgeous tabby-patterned coat and a sweet, somewhat worried, expression. Carmen is an affectionate young lady who enjoys spending time with her humans. In true Maine Coon fashion, she likes water and enjoys playing with and drinking from the kitchen tap. She's a chatty girl as well, and always embraces the chance to engage in a great conversation when her human talks back to her. Being the active young lady that she is, she is far too busy to spend a lot of time on her human's lap, but she does want to be close by, and will tuck herself into the foot of the bed with her people ... With people to spend time with her, talk to her, and give her fun, interactive playtime, Carmen will surely be a loving and loyal addition to her new home.     Blackjack is an energetic and fun boy. Him and his brother Domino were rescued as highly unsocialized kittens and we have worked with them tirelessly for a long time to enable them to live comfortably with humans. Domino and BlackJack are available for a good home together with someone who is patient and understanding of their natural fear. It does take several weeks for them to relax but once they do, they will be glued to you for good. They love to be petted, they adore bellyrubs and they do well with other cats and dogs. Won't you consider adopting these handsome boys in suits?
