Rescue Me ID: 15-02-14-00272Sweetie Pie (female)
Long thick coat. Sweetie is affectionate but on her terms. She has only lived with older women. She has had two owners. She would do well as the only pet. She is docile but will bite or snap if she does not want attention. Sweetie is independent. She would make an excellent pet for a childless family.

Rescue Me ID: 15-02-06-00227Mango (male)
Mango is an Ike survivor who loves to cuddle with people and dogs. If you are sad or don't feel good, he knows it and will nuzzle you until you smile. He is between 25 to 30 lbs, has beautiful orange and white fur and loves to talk. He still has his claws but does not tear up furniture and he is a completely indoors cat. He needs a home because my daughter is a cancer patient and we can no longer keep him due to health risks to my daughter.

Here we go again - starting at the beginning. It is quite a stressful back and forth but there is really no reason. I could tell you a lot - but I will not as I do not want your compassion but would like your love, patience and understanding. I would like to have a fresh start. - I have a good age (5 years) - not too young or too old - I have a good sides and a few rough edges - it is called character - I have a lot of potential - I am for sure far better looking than in the picture :-) - I do not want your compassion (my story is sad) but I would like - actually I am asking you - for your love, care, attention and patience because - I would like to arrive and be at home just be cat. Be with quite ordinary, understanding humans than this will be a good fit. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-11-12-00004Mr.T (male)
This animal is available to licensed rescue groups only. Please do not enquire unless with a licensed rescue group. Mr. T is a beautiful and sweet cat to me. He is affectionate and wants to keep close. He will talk to me and will let me know if his bowl is empty with a soft meow. He will sit next to me and allow me to pet him and brush him. If he is lying down he will often roll over so I can pet his tummy - which is tan and very soft and wavy. At night he wll often jump up on the bed and wants me to pet him. After about 10-15 minutes or if I roll over and cover my heand and hands he will settle down and go to sleep at my feet or at the bend in my knees. He is not as affectionate with my husband or 2 adult sons although he will let them pet him and will sleep in my husband lap or on his legs at night. Since my husband is usually up first he will let him know when his bowl is empty with his soft meow. He is a quiet cat. Mr. T was the 5th cat to be added to our home. We also have 2 dogs which he gets along with. Our previous 4 cats (all female) gave him a very hard time when he came home. They would not let him upstairs at first and then kept him out of our bedroom. Once he started coming into our bedroom he began marking his territory usually outside the cat box or near the sleeping places of the other cats - not daily but often enough to be undesireable. After having one large community cat box for up to 6 cats; I tried placing cat boxes all around the house hoping that this would help to stop Mr. T marking teritory. This helped a little but did not resolve the problem. Once Mr. T started exhibiting his domance over the other 4 cats their behavior changed dramatically. One cat, CJ, will not leave the bedroom and I have set up a feeding station, cat box and cat tree for her on one side of the bedroom near a window so she can sit in the window which she enjoys. Katy Kat also stays in the bedroom usually in my husband's closet. I have food and water set in there for her. She will come out some and lounge around the bedroom near the closet but if Mr. T comes near she will run back into the closet. She does come out for her evening tuna and uses the community cat box but starts growling if she senses Mr. T and runs into the closet. Kiowa is a 3 legged cat and while she does move around the house she is very wary of Mr. T and will often growl and hisses if he approaches. He will sometimes chase her. Our oldest cat, Zena has made a peace of sorts with Mr. T and usually ignores him although they give each other wide berth. Zena move around the house and is the least intimidated by Mr. T. We have added 2 younger cats to our household since Mt. T's arrival. The 1st was a female (Sunshine) of about 12 weeks old and then 5 months later a male (Frankie) of about 14 weeks. Mr. T and Sunshine got/get along well and would play with each other. Now Sunshine and Frankie are great pals and Sunshine does not play or bother Mr. T as much although she will still chase him now and then. Frankie gets along with Mr. T pretty well. We still have a problem with Mr. T marking territory however. I brought home some papers from a dog camp that I am looking into as our older dog is needing more care then my sons would provide while my husband and I travel and Mr. T marked on the papers which were in a bag that I had with some shopping items. He managed to wet the bottom of a book I purchased, some sewing notions that thankfully were in sealed plastic bags and since I picked up the bag and placed it on my bed to check out - got my quilt and a pillow wet as well. It has been a long hard decision but I have finally decided that Mr T while sweet and loving to me is too disruptive to our household. He needs to be in a 1 pet household with him being the one pet. I believe his predominant caretaker should be female. He is young and healthy and should be given and will provide to his owner lots of love. It makes me sad to have to give him up and so I want him to go to a loving and forever home. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-09-09-00666Kris (female)
Kris is so sweet and deserving of a wonderful home. She was found dumped in a park with her kittens. It was such an awful situation for such a young mother to be in but when we found her, she ran to us for safety. This is why we are committed to finding her a great and forever loving home. She deserves a happily ever after. She is fixed and has wonderful house manners.

Animal ID: San Antonio Area Adoptions OnlyMusette (female)
Musette is an absolutely beautiful Maine Coon mix who was trapped as a stray. Because she was past the young kitten age at that time, it has been harder to teach her to trust people than if she had been caught as a tiny baby. Her foster mom has patiently been working with Musette, and says that although it's rare for Musette to walk up to her, this pretty girl is now at the point where she enjoys being petted. Musette can be picked up occasionally, but so far is only comfortable being held for a very short time. Musette gets along very well with other cats and with dogs. With time, patience and TLC, Musette will continue to improve! She is still very young (only a year old in September 2012), and is well on the way to becoming a wonderful companion! Her adoption fee of $75 includes spay, vaccines, deworming and testing for FeLV/FIV. (Less)
