Rescue Me ID: 14-09-02-00441Momma Bear (female)

Maine Coon Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

This stunning young lady appeared in my back yard about a year ago. She had her 'mini me' kitten in tow and they set up house under my neighbors shed. Mini Me eventually found a wonderful home with an adorable kitten brother to keep him company. I kept feeding MB and eventually trapped her, had her spayed and vaccinated and returned her to my back yard. She was very feral but over a period of months she learned that laps and pets were a wonderful thing. She had a kitty igloo on my back patio for shelter but one rainy night in November I decided it was time to bring her in. I did not intend to keep her...famous last words...but she ... (Read More)became a wonderful companion to my special needs foster kitty. Due to a work situation that requires me to start traveling again, it is now time to find this beautiful girl a permanent home of her own. MB is one of the most affectionate kitties I've had the pleasure of knowing. She loves to spend her mornings with me and my cup of coffee in front of the computer. She used to curl up in a tiny wire basket on my desk but every time she stretched or turned over she would fall out and land on my keyboard (for a cat she's a bit uncoordinated...she falls off the couch, too). I solved the problem by attaching a wooden cat bed box to the wall next to my desk. Since it has 5 inch sides she can now roll around all she wants (trying to be cute) and never fall out onto my desk. Problem solved :) When she thinks I'm not paying her enough attention she will jump up behind me in my office chair, put her paws around my neck and kiss my hair. She loves, loves tummy rubs and face scratches and will throw herself down in front of you to get them. MB loves to take her naps in front of my office window where she can also watch the birds fighting among themselves at the bird feeder or bathing in the bird bath. When it's play time she plays hard. She loves a good game of chase with me or her roommate, Austin, and thinks her kitty tunnel is home base where she is 'safe'. Another favorite game is batting polka mousie and green thing around until they wind up under the closet doors. It is then my job to retrieve them so she can start the game all over again. She is also a huge fan of Da Bird and will chase it around the office until I let her 'catch it' and then she gives me a funny little look like, 'what do I do with it now?'. MB loves playing and cuddling with her foster brother, Austin, but she's not a huge fan of my own cats and will hide under the recliner whenever they come in my office. They can be a mean bunch so I have them separated most of the time. I think she would do very well with another chill, non- dominant/aggressive kitty. I think she would also be fine as an only kitty as long as her person spent lots of time playing with her. She has only been around adult women since she's been with me so I have no idea how she is with men or kids. I believe she would be fine with anyone except maybe small children. MB has excellent litter box manners, is micro chipped and up to date on her vaccinations. The vet estimates her age at 2-2 1/2 years old. MB is currently sporting a very stylish lion cut. Her hair is VERY long and will require LOTS of brushing if it grows out to its normal length. She is prone to knotting under her armpits and on her belly and bloomers. I have found that professional grooming seems to make everyone happier. Feel free to contact me with any questions you might have. If think you would be interested in meeting MB, I would be happy to send you an adoption questionnaire. I will warn you that the special person(s) who opens their heart and home to sweet little Momma Bear should be prepared to have their life enriched ten-fold. (Less)

Maine Coon Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Cats, Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Needs Vaccinations

Sweet Kitty Cat (KC) needs to find a new home. After getting married and adding two kids, husband and herding dog to her life, she's not content. She was fine with my two small Pomeranians, just not happy with the additional dog that likes to chase her and the extra humans! She is front declawed, and missing one top fang. I would like to place her in adult only home, no other pets. Her happiness is my #1 priority. She has a gorgeous coat, amber eyes and loves to purr. Let's talk if you think you have a home for her.

Health: Abused/Neglected

I found this sweet cat a few months ago. She was terrified and almost hit by several cars. She was only skin and bone but I have nursed her back to a much healthier weight. She is very timid and hides as her safety mechanism. But once she realizes that you're not a threat she will crave and beg you for attention.
