Animal ID: Winston Courtesy PostWinston Courtesy Post (male)

Maine Coon Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Handsome, regal Winston is a 4-year old Maine Coon mix with the silkiest grey tabby-patterned coat, a splash of white on his fluffy mane, super-fuzzy toe tufts, and a long fluffy tail he carries high and proudly, like an historic tall ship coming into harbor at full sail. Winston's gorgeous appearance belies his rough first years of life. Winston was taken in by his loving caregiver when a neighbor abandoned him to fend for himself. He was starving, his coat matted and full of fleas, and he was deathly afraid of the skies above, not even wanting to be near a window. His caregiver thinks he may have witnessed his brother being mortally ... (Read More)wounded by a hawk. After several months of loving care, however, Winston's true, beautiful personality is now shining. Winston is very gentle and sweet-natured, and likes to sit in his caregiver's lap for a short time. He also appreciates a nice brushing to keep his now gorgeous coat in top shape. Winston is a talkative chap, and very expressive, with a large vocabulary of chirps and trills to get his point across. Now that he feels safe, he loves to sit near the window during the day to watch the birds and squirrels. Winston is also a playful young man. He really enjoys interactive play with his caregiver, especially chasing a wand toy and a flashlight beam (no tiny red dot for this guy). A gentleman of the modern age, he also finds YouTube to be a great way to while away an afternoon. Those mice running around the TV screen are really cool! After lots of play and pets, Winston is happy to retire for a nice evening with a snifter of catnip and a little Johnny Mathis music. Playful, loving, and beautiful, Winston will be a wonderful addition to his new forever family. Winston is neutered, up-to-date on his vaccinations, and has tested negative for FeLV/FIV. He is very enthusiastic about using his litter box and to make sure every deposit is well concealed, he builds vast pyramids of sand suitable for honoring the greatest kings and queens of Ancient Egypt. Winston is located in Virginia Beach, VA. If you are interested in adopting him, please contact Cris at mygardenlife21@gmail.com or call 757-373-8895. Winston's caregiver can help with transportation up to 200 miles. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-01-05-00427Sebastian (male)

Maine Coon Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Cats, Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Aggressive

We offered to foster Sebastian when he showed up at our vet after having been abandoned by his family. He is incredibly sweet - always wants attention and will cuddle all night with you. He is unpredictable though and has scratched adults and kids alike. He currently sleeps with my 11 yr old daughter. He is very loyal and playful. He is fairly aggressive with our dogs though and has our bulldog very scared of him. Our 16 yr old cat holds her own with him and he is fairly submissive with her. He does have an issue with peeing on things, like beds, rugs (not full room carpets though). He does use a litter box. We just can't keep him ... (Read More)any longer. He is such a sweetheart though and when you stop petting him, he looks up at you and reaches his paw out to ask for more. We are very sad that we can't keep him, but he just isn't good for our bulldog, our older cat and the kids that we have over at our house. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-12-18-00064Irina (female)

Maine Coon Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Irina is an approximately sixteen month old Maine Coon/Domestic Mix. Her coat is that of a dilute/pastel tortieshell and she has beautiful dark gold eyes. She is an attention monger. She runs up to me as soon as I enter the room where she and four other rescue kitties live in my downstair's office space. While she gets along well with the other kitties in her room, she does not play with and/or snuggle with them so she would most likely do well as an only kitty in addition to being in a muti cat household. Irina does play with toys, but her primary goal in life is to receive pets and snuggles from a human. This petite girl was one of ... (Read More)the subjects of a harboring case. Her owner who was a former Maine Coon breeder contacted me through RescueMe on October 3, 2015, and begged me to take four of her fourteen kitties so they would not be euthanized. Irina was still lactating when I retrieved her from the breeder at a gas station in New Kent County Virginia. Upon further inquiry I learned that Irina had recently given birth to a litter of kittens all of whom had passed away. For the first few weeks at my office this dear little girl would squirrel herself away in a corner and build a nest for her deceased kittens and defend her nest against any perceived intruding kitties. It was just heartbreaking. Thankfully her protective behavior ceased after three weeks. She has recently been spayed, is negative for both feline leukemia and feline immunodeficiency virus and up to date on her vaccinations. Irina is such a sweet and loving kitty girl who performs pirouettes every time someone enters her room just begging them to pay attention to her. If you would like to be this amazing kitty girl's human, please contact me. I do like to receive a vet reference from potential adopters. (Less)

Animal ID: Icky Picasso Courtesy PostIcky Picasso Courtesy (male)

Maine Coon Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Needs Vaccinations

And the Oscar goes to: Icky Picasso, for how handsome he looks in a tuxedo (he's wearing Armani, of course!), his super interesting name, and for his stellar performance as the fun-loving star of his family's household. I-Picasso is 7 years young, still very active, and loves, loves, loves to play. Wand toys are best for this fella, as he can get quite vigorous during a good play session. He would adore a home in which he gets lots of attention and play time with his people. He is also super friendly and loves to sit on his humans' lap. When he has met all of his social obligations for the day, I-Picasso enjoys some peaceful alone ... (Read More)time. Like most Maine Coons/mixes, I-Picasso likes to stay busy, working on projects with his humans, and wants to be right in the middle of the action. He is always eager to 'help' when the broom comes out, pouncing on it to help propel it across the floor. I-Picasso also enjoys a good paddle in water, as many Maine Coons do. This energetic, furry ball of fun will brighten up his new home with his dashing good looks and silly antics, and be a loving and devoted addition to his new family. I-Picasso enjoys the company of children who know to be gentle with him. He has not experienced the company of other cats and dogs. He has excellent litter box manners and always uses his scratching post to keep his manicure in tip-top shape and red carpet ready! Icky Picasso is neutered, and will need a routine vet visit once adopted to bring him UTD on his vaccines. He is currently located in Virginia Beach, VA. To apply to adopt Icky Picasso, please contact his caregiver, Ms. Rock, at fornaturalbirth@gmail.com or call 757-202-7548, anytime. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-10-26-00408Vega (female)

Maine Coon Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Vega appears to be Domestic Maine Coon mix. She is approximsteky two ands half years old as of December 20, 2015. Vega was an eight to ten week old kitten when appeared in my office parking lot in July of 2013 with her two brothers, Ploydeuces and Altair. At that time she was very scared. It took a little while to earn her trust, but she is now an absolute dear. She is predominantly grey and white in color but she does have hints of creme on her face. Her markings are beautiful as are her big green eyes. Her coat is extremely soft and has the feel of velvet. She currently resides in my downstairs office space in a room with one of ... (Read More)brothers, Altair, and two other male kitties. While Vega enjoys playing with toys (she loves to chase the red dot and has caught it on occasion) , she prefers! to receive love and give purrs. This big girl enjoys the scratcher toys and condos that are located in her room as well as looking out the window. While she is on the reserved side she is a true dear who deserves to have a human of her very own to dote on and love. I do when possible like to receive vet references from potential adopters. If you are interested in becoming this great girl's guardian and providing her with a loving indoor home, please feel free to contact me. (Less)
