Rescue Me ID: 14-12-10-00409Mia (female)

Maine Coon Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Mia is a 1 year old female kitten with a wonderful personality. She is most likely a Maine Coon mix of some sort. She is a sweet girl and would be great in a home with other cats, a cat-friendly dog, and/or children. She loves being petted and is happy to just be around people. She has moderate energy and is ready to play when you are! She was rescued when she was about 6-8 weeks old and was very malnourished. She barely survived, but now she is healthy and loving life. She needs a home with people who are willing to keep her litter box very clean, as she will go outside of the box if it is not reasonably clean. She has been returned once ... (Read More)due to this issue, so we are looking for a forever home who will love and care for her regardless. She is a medium sized cat and is fully grown. She does need a lot of brushing/grooming, as she gets mats very easily. Mia is fully vetted (spayed, FIV/FeLV tested, UTD on vaccinations, and microchipped). If you think Mia may be the right fit for your home, please contact us. There will be an application, adoption fee, and contract. Please contact us with any questions or for more information! (Less)

Maine Coon    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed

I don't have papers but she appears to be pure-breed. Beautiful long-haired Maine Coon, has hair between the toes, and a cute little white necktie under her neck. Her front feet have been de-clawed (not by me) so I fear that she cannot support herself in the wild. And it's cold out there! She loves living indoors (will not beg to go out) and is a very loving animal. Loves to be petted and will use the litter box. Had to be put out as owner moved.

I'm a 'Personal Assistant.' You're working on the computer? Let me press the keys. Reading the paper? I'll hold the pages down for you. Watching TV? I'll just plop in your lap so you can pet me. I love an orderly household, don't you? I'll help you with all your chores, and I'll help you relax when we're done. You'll wonder how you ever managed without me.

Animal ID: OzOz (male)

Maine Coon Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Oz is a very handsome one year young brown tabby with white paws. He is adjusting to indoor life and living with a houseful or cats and dogs. He seems OK with the dogs, but is not so great with the adult cats right now. He seems to be doing better with the younger kitties, and has even been caught grooming them and taking care of them. Oz will come to you for attention and loving. He likes to be near you, or on your chest, but if there are other kitties around he will go his own way. He doesn't seem to like his belly or back rubbed and will give a warning meow. It is because of this that we are not recommending him to be adopted ... (Read More)into a home with young children ( under age 8). Oz will be up to date with vaccines, is neutered and has tested neg for FeLV/FIV. Oz is located in Arlington VA. Maine Coon Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Jasmine and her kittens were dropped off at the back door of our shelter in a box. A note was left saying that they were feral, but we quickly found that this wasn't the case. All three are affectionate and loving. Jasmine's babies have been adopted, and now it's Jasmine's turn! She's been spayed and is awaiting a patient home. She can be shy at first in new places, but once you've assured her she's safe, she'll rub against your hands when you pet her.

Rescue Me ID: 14-10-26-00420Leda (female)

Maine Coon Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Leda is approximately three to four years old and appears to be a mix breed with some Chartreuse, Maine Coon and/or Norwegian Forest. Leda appeared in my office parking lot last summer with a bedraggled black kitten. After feeding her for months, I was able to lure her and the kitten into my office as they played with a laser pointer. Leda was incredibly skinny despite being pregnant. The vet she saw did not believe she could have kittens given the age of her boy, Castor, but he took a look at her using imaging tech and saw three kittens. Leda ultimately gave birth to three kittens last August, one naturally, one with the assistance of ... (Read More)meds and the last via Caesarean section. She is definitely looking forward to some empty nest years. She is an absolute dear but a bit of an over-eater, which probably comes from having had to fend for herself and her kittens while outside. Leda does play with toys but she seems to prefer receiving attention over playing with toys. She makes great use of the various scratchers that are in the room with she and her brood. When possible I do like to receive a vet reference from potential adopters. If you are interested in providing this dear girl with the loving indoor-only home she deserves please feel free to contact me. (Less)

Maine Coon Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Vega appears to be Domestic Maine Coon mix. She is just over one year old. Vega appeared in my office parking lot last summer. She was about eight to ten weeks old at that time and very scared. It took a little while to earn her trust, but she us now an absolute dear. She is predominantly grey and white in color but she does have hints of creme on her face. Her markings are beautiful as are her big green eyes. She currently resides in my office with what I believe to be brothers and potential younger siblings. While Vega enjoys playing with toys, she prefers to receive love and give purrs. This big girl enjoys the scratcher toys and ... (Read More)condos that are located in her room as well as looking out the window. While she is on the reserved side she is a true dear. If possible I do like to receive vet references from potential adopters.     Male neutered Gray Tabby, Age 8 yrs old, inside cat only. He weighs about 19 pounds. He would make a great companion for a woman who does not have other animals or children.
